Baltasar and
Blimunda Route

Baltasar and Blimunda is reborn in the form of a cultural and historical route,
which, is simultaneously, an homage to José Saramago.

T he Route establishes a course between Casa dos Bicos and Largo da Igreja de Cheleiros, for a total of 58 km. It is structured around the identified buildings, which exist in the municipalities of Lisbon, Loures and Mafra. In Lisbon, the Terreiro do Paço (National Monument) and the Casa dos Bicos / José Saramago Foundation (Monument of Public Interest); in Loures, Santo Antão do Tojal, the Archbishops Palace (Monument of Public Interest); and, in Mafra, the Royal Building of Mafra (UNESCO National Monument and World Heritage Site). Along this route the visitor/tourist is invited to trace the geographical sites in the novel.
